Texas Association of Meat Processors 

It  has been a very successful couple of weeks attending our annual meat conventions. Our membership in Texas Association of Meat Processors and Southwest Meat Association has been vital to our survival as a small meat and sausage business as well as the support our 2 children have received with multiple scholarships for their college educations. Hunter Nevlud was fortunate to receive the TAMP Dr. Frank & Pearl Orts Scholarship in memory of Jim Henry.

This year’s 35th annual Texas Association of Meat Processors convention was held in Lake Charles and Doug came home with multiple awards with his entries in the product show. His attention to detail including texture, quality, color and taste were all judged and he went up against many talented meat and sausage producers in the state. We are so proud to come home with the following hardware:

🌟GRAND CHAMPION BEEF JERKY(Doug’s first try in this category and he took home the top prize!)

🌟RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION SPECIALTY SUMMER SAUSAGE (MAEKER’S Jalapeño & Cheese Summer Sausage)

🌟RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS (Meat Loaf, Doug’s mom’s recipe with an added extra flair)

🌟CHAMPION SPECIALTY SMOKED SAUSAGE (Bacon Jalapeño Mac n Cheese Smoked Sausage)
